It is implied that he is involved in some drug usage, although this is never explicitly stated. He is a talented violin player and chemist, and is well-versed in sensational literature. His knowledge is specialized yet diverse. A brilliant and eccentric "consulting detective," Holmes is a rather enigmatic figure.
